Planning a Princess party?
As parents, we want our child’s birthday party to be magical and memorable for them.
What do you want to avoid?
20 children running wild with nothing to keep them entertained, a character that’s not “realistic,” or guests missing half of the entertainment.
Over the years I have performed as princess characters hundreds (maybe even thousands of times), and have owned Isabelle’s Princess Parties for 10 years.
Do you want to plan a magical and memorable party that keeps the children entertained and contained? After thousands of parties and more than 10 years of princess party experience, I am here to help you!
Want to know why I say no to rain dates? Do you want to avoid a chaotic party? Or worse, having a group of bored children just sitting around?

Consider your child’s personality.
Instead of thinking of their party as a chance to see all the family and friends you miss, think about how your child does with large groups to determine the size.
If your child isn’t overwhelmed easily go ahead and make it a big party! Is your child likely to feel shy? Keep it small.
On the same note, consider whether your child will be okay with being surprised by the arrival of the princess, or whether they would do better knowing in advance.
Entertainment and Vendors
Choose a company that is a referral from a trustworthy friend, or that you’ve seen in action at another party..
Check reviews and social media pages for the company you are considering hiring.
Be wary of companies that are not local, think 1-800 phone number. These often take bookings and then try to find a local company to take the booking for a cheap cost. They are notorious for canceling at the last minute when they can’t fulfill the booking.
If having Elsa, Cinderella, Belle, Tiana, or any other specific princess is essential to your party, check availability with your company of choice well in advance, and before booking other elements such as venue.
If you have multiple things booked such as a bounce house, princess, and a face painter I recommend staggering them.
Turn the bouncy house off while the performance is going on. Otherwise, children have FOMO and tend to run back and forth between activities.
Take advantage of having the performance time to keep the children’s attention and minimize chaos.
Birthday PArty timeline
If you are having a 2-hour party plan to invite your guests 15-20 minutes before the arrival of the entertainer. This allows for late arrivals before the show starts, then food and cake afterward.
Alternately, invite guests to arrive 30+ minutes before the performer serving food before the performance, and cake after.
weather
Here’s the deal.
Plan for an indoor option for inclement weather if planning to have your party outside.
The problem with rain dates is that it is inconvenient if you’ve prepared or ordered food and cake. The other issue is that you may find your guests unable to go.
Then you have to contend with rescheduling policies for your entertainment and any other vendors. It prevents a lot of problems and potential disappointment to be able to easily host your princess party indoors.
Let the kids hear cinderella
Turn off any music you have playing when the performer arrives.
Encourage adults who want to keep chatting into another area so the performer doesn’t have to compete with their volume.
Before writing this I polled party performers about what makes a party go smoothly. Almost everyone responded with how challenging it is to give the kid’s the most of the performance if the adults are loud.
That being said, a well-versed performer will also command attention from guests of all ages.
Have a Perfect Party
It’s impossible to compete with some of the designer, over-the-top, picture-perfect Pinterest-worthy parties.
Ultimately if you consider your child’s personality, and your guests are fed and entertained they will have a great time. Don’t keep yourself up all night decorating and preparing. (In the words of Alice in Wonderland, ” I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.”

Definitely pocketing the advice you’ve given today! Thanks
